Overview
ImmersityLens is a Chrome extension that converts 2D images into immersive 3D Leia Image Format (LIF) using
artificial intelligence. This privacy policy explains how we handle data when you use our extension.
Note: ImmersityLens requires an active subscription to Immersity AI for image conversion
functionality.
Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or transmit personal information beyond what's required for Immersity AI
subscription authentication.
The extension operates with the following privacy principles:
- Immersity AI subscription credentials are required for functionality
- API keys are stored locally and securely in your browser
- No personal data collection beyond subscription authentication
- No tracking or analytics
- No data sharing with third parties (except for necessary image processing and subscription verification)
Image Processing
When you choose to convert an image to 3D:
What Happens to Your Images
- Images are processed using the Immersity AI service for 3D conversion
- Images are only sent for processing when you explicitly click the "2D3D" button
- No images are permanently stored by our extension
- Images are not shared with any third parties beyond the conversion service
- The conversion service processes images temporarily and does not retain them
User Control
- All image processing is initiated by your direct action
- You can choose which images to convert
- No automatic or background image processing occurs
Local Storage
The extension stores minimal data locally in your browser:
What We Store
- Your extension preference (enabled/disabled state)
- Your Immersity AI API credentials (stored securely and locally)
- CORS information display status (whether you've seen the CORS help popup)
What We Don't Store
- No images or image data
- No personal information
- No browsing history
- No website data
Third-Party Services
Immersity AI
- We use Immersity AI's service for 2D to 3D image conversion
- Your subscription credentials are used to authenticate with their API
- Images are sent to their servers only when you request conversion
- Subscription verification occurs automatically to ensure service availability

No Other Third Parties
- We do not integrate with any other third-party services
- No advertising networks or analytics services
- No data brokers or marketing companies
Permissions Explanation
The extension requests the following permissions:
activeTab
- Purpose: To add 2D3D buttons to images on the current webpage
- Scope: Only the tab you're currently viewing
- Data Access: Limited to DOM manipulation for button placement
storage
- Purpose: To remember your extension preferences and API credentials
- Data Stored: Extension enable/disable preference and Immersity AI API credentials
- Security: API credentials are stored securely using Chrome's storage API encryption
host_permissions
- Purpose: To communicate with Immersity AI's conversion service
- Scope: Limited to Immersity AI domains only
- Data Sent: Only images you explicitly choose to convert
Subscription and API Credentials
How We Handle Your Immersity AI Credentials
- API keys are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage
- Credentials are never transmitted to our servers
- Only used for direct communication with Immersity AI's authenticated services
- You can remove credentials at any time through the extension popup
Subscription Verification
- The extension periodically verifies your subscription status with Immersity AI
- This ensures conversion features work properly and within your plan limits
- No subscription details are stored by our extension
- All subscription management occurs directly with Immersity AI
Data Security
- All communications with external services use HTTPS encryption
